Sandy Cove

I couldn’t resist including the place where I really learned to play guitar in front of people: the fire at sandy cove.
About twice a year a group of us congregate to a little town in Maine, and have been for the last 20 years and more.
When I was 14 they were sneaking me beers and teaching me to play Rocky Raccoon. From there it became the incessant
Grateful Dead jams. Now it’s the Thong Song and Biggie Smalls. Much like Tri-State Area, it’s not just the irony of a white
gay boy playing hip-hop in front of a fire, but more so the sincerity that comes with.
