The Free Agency was a small artist-centric booking agency based in New York City, primarily focused on the planning of tours for independent bands across North America. The agency was formed in Olympia, Washington by John Chavez (The Punks) and the owner of Kill Rock Stars and 5RC Records, Slim Moon. Princess was one of the first bands on the roster, and I booked the Princess tours in conjunction with the agency. Other acts on the roster have included BARR, Tracy and the Plastics, Excepter, and Wooden Wand, to name a few. Soon after the agency moved to New York and I became more actively involved. I began booking for many bands including, Effi Briest, THE DEATHSET, Ponytail, Panther, and several others. In early 2008, The Free Agency merged with Ground Control Touring and I left booking behind to focus on my own music and performance.
The man with the plan: John Chavez.
