Princess
Alexis Gideon and Michael O'Neill.
Princess began in Chicago in 2004 - the culminating project of 7 years collaboration between Alexis Gideon
and myself. We played extensively Chicago for 2 years, and toured the US on multiple trips. Though we took
this project must more seriously than the rest, it fell to the same fate the Good Time Band Band or Planet
Springsteen, ultimately ending in 2006 when I moved to Brooklyn and Alexis moved to L.A. The self-titled
album Princess was released on Sickroom Records in 2005. The follow-up record Love, Tiffany was recorded,
but never quite finished, mastered or released...
Below is our first song, "Miss Adventures" from the album Princess.
Here is the title track from the unreleased, Love, Tiffany, perhaps the only Princess song with myself as the lead vocalist.
Here is one of my favorite Princess songs, "Dusty", also from the album Princess.
This is the video for our song "Osama", which was also intended for the new record. In typical Alexis fashion,
this video is hysterical and brilliant all at once.
Here is a clip from a show at the Knitting Factory in 2006. It comes from an improvised moment
in the set, featuring Alexis on vocals, and myself on the MPC 2000.
Below is a documentary on Princess, created by Zane Van Dusen for a project at RPI.
